The third sign on this week...

Well done young man

Bailey Banfield has signed a two-year contract that will see the midfielder at Fremantle until at least the end of the 2020 season.

The deal will also see the 20-year-old elevated from the rookie list to the senior list following the 2018 season.

Banfield was selected with pick no.5 in the 2018 NAB AFL Rookie Draft and had a rapid rise into Fremantle’s starting 22.

In my opinion he has been our best recruit so far. Others may over take him down the track, but this season he has been far and away our best first year recruit.
Hopefully with all these young ones  re-signing, it will have some effect on getting Adam Cerra to put pen to paper.

I'm really quite impressed with Banfield and his progression this season.  He is older than the other boys and has been playing with men in the WAFL, so he has a head start.  I really like his manner when doing interviews, he seems to have a level head and really presents himself well.

Everyone talks about Brayshaw as a future captain, like somehow with his family background and high draft pick, it is a natural progression, even before he has proven himself.  Well I see Banfield, if he can develop into a good player, that he just might be captain material.
