After the incident with Harris Andrews and Jeremy Camerons' elbow on the weekend past players, Gerard Healy and Chris Judd have called for the red card to be introduced to the game.
I am not sure about others but I still don't see a need for it at all.

I wonder if Judd would have squealed like a stuck pig had he been sent off for his dog act against Pavlich.
I have no faith in the integrity of the umpires now. Imagine where it would fall to if they had this power.
Comments.

And let’s not forget the pressure points, eye gouging and chicken wing tackles that Juddy was allowed to get away with simply because his name was Judd.

I would be very alarmed if the AFL introduced a Red Card system. Can you just imagine that in the hands of Margetts, Fisher, Dalgleish and Nichols when they’re umpiring the Dockers? We’d have no team left by the final quarter.

The WCE would of course become even more of a protected species and along with the skyrocketing Free kicks they’re given, their opposition would be sent off in droves.

TOO SCARY BY HALF.

If the last test of the All Black versus France is anything to go by, the red card rule is a joke. I'm more than happy to see a player get a punishment after a game, when heads are cooler, and the extent of an injury is know, if any.
