Great news with the announcement that Maneiro Fredericks is to make his debut in the Derby - a baptism by fire.  I must admit, his inclusion has now added some excitement to the game for me as this kid has got some nice moves.  With the number of players from our best 22 injured I confess I wasn’t feeling too optimistic about our chances of even getting close to the Eagles.  Throw in the fact that they also have their extra man in Margetts, and the stage was set for a dismal night for us.

JLo obviously seems to think the time is right for Maneiro.  After all, he kicked an impressive three goals within 40 minutes in his scratchie against GC reserves last week.  That’s no mean feat given the GC talent pool.

It looks like he will be playing at half forward so with a bit of luck we will see
one or two goals from him.  Every youngster we have debuted this year has had a very good debut game.  I can’t see it being any different for Fredericks.

He’s going to love the noise from the Docker fans.  Go Dockers!!

This guy has the attributes to become a very special player let’s hope he doesn’t get overwhelmed by the occasion.

He could very well be a bit nervous tip tops he seems a shy boy but once  he is involved with  a goal  or better still  he kicks a goal  it will settle his nerves.
He is built well so should be able to take a few bumps.
Not hoping for too much in this one .
A bridge too far with our outs me think..

Fay I’m also going in with no real expectations for this game, but Never say never.
I did see Fredericks play against Carlton in the preseason game and to be honest he did look a bit lost to start with but soon got into the swing of things so with a few scratch matches against AFL players under his belt I’m sure he won’t take long to get into the game.

Aah DF, he’ll be right.  A couple of quick snaps on goals and he will be flying.  Not one of our youngsters who have debuted this season has had a bad first game.  He will be no exception, and who knows, he may even have the best debut of the lot!!
