Lyon said last night that he wasn't sure that Sandi and Darcy could fit into the same team for this game.Easy solution.Drop Kersten use Darcy up forward and as a second string ruck man when Sandi needs a spell.
Also seems likely that Fyfe will play as a forward this week.

Your proposal sounds good to me anchor, but unfortunately it's looking increasingly like we will field only one ruckman this Sunday, and Sean will be sitting this one out.

By all indications Fyfe will play forward, and to quote Ross tonight, "he would help both Shane and Cam to lift".

Judging by these comments it looks very much like Ross intends to persevere with our underperforming forward set up at least for another week.

I personally think its a big mistake, and it would take more than Fyfe's presence to get some real output from our forwards. Where is our forward coach in all this?

More than happy to be proven wrong though!!!!

I'm prepared to see what Cam and Kersten can extract from this season.

Cam has played 34 games in total. He missed a year completely and he has had personal issues.

This is his second season of football. He has kicked 17, there's been one game where he hasn't kicked a goal.

If he can build into these next 9 games and kicks 13 then I would say that is a decent season (in context with his career so far) and he can work into the preseason. He definitely has work to do.

The delivery into forward 50 has been less than ideal either.

I honestly think it would be the worst move to send Cam back to Peel or Kersten for that matter. They need to fight their way through this and not hide back at Peel.

Goby, I wouldn't see it as "hide" away at Peel.Others have had bad times during the season and have been sent back to Peel.Taberner, Collins(after one game),Sutcliffe ,Sheridan.just to name a few.It can be their way back to form and into the league side again.
Remember that Kersten always had an up and down career at Geelong. He played on good one then two or three bad ones, what happened!!!! Back to the ressies.
At the moment both are far from AFL footballers.
If Lyon is prepared to soften Darcy's ride into AFL then so be it.I am only a supporter, he knows better than me.

When Fyfe was fully fit and he was rotating in the forward line with Mundy, Kersten and McCarthy had some real chemistry going and both of were really instrumental in our 6 wins after our first two losses.  Seems a long way back now, but not forgotten by me.  Nor by Ross Lyon I hear, after watching and listening very carefully to Lyon's "Dual Narrative" talk he gave to the media on 28/6 at approx 10.15 am.  Further - this dual narrative also mentions how pleased he was with the youngsters against the Cats last week. Of course, everyone wants a win, but then the coach can't push some too hard due to their young bodies.  So it's developing them to a 1st class performance, but remembering the limitations involved.

I have a feeling we may see Brennan Cox playing up forward some time this year, with Darcy definitely re-signed for the ruck whilst an understudy for Sandilands for the moment. Mr Darcy will be developed as an excellent replacement!

Like Goby, I would persist with McCarthy and Kersten and rest Fyfe and Mundy with forward rotations. This year there are less rotations off the bench and Lyon has tried a few on-field rotations to make up for that. Not just in the forward line.

So it will be interesting to see what happens against St Kilda, who have a couple of fast ball carriers. Looking forward to watching this one!

Go Dockers!!

From that squad, I would say Grey for Kersten, Fyfe for Logue and Sandilands for Darcy or Ryan.
So much for Fyfe to play forward. But I guess it is just a squad so far.
I would still keep Darcy in as a forward come back up ruckman.

Sheridan out for starters.

It would be a shame for Darcy to get a game and do well just to be dropped. The idea of putting him forward I like but not to drop Kersten.  I'd like to see how things shape up with Kersten and Cam in a side with more grunt with inclusions of Fyfe and to some extent Sandi.

I saw Logue tackle his own team mate in the Geelong game. That's enough to drop him. Logue is a slightly more longer term prospect that I had first thought. He needs more footy experience.

Deluca did ok and it would be a shame to drop him after one game.

Well, well Brennan Cox is being tried as a key forward much earlier than I anticipated.
I won't try to read Ross Lyon's mind for this one, but suspect Kersten will stay in.

I really like the idea of Brennan Cox playing a role in the forward line. This kid can seriously mark and I have no doubt we will see plenty of it on Sunday. If he can follow through and kick some goals then we will have turned a corner.

In spite of what Ross said in his interview about not needing two ruckmen this week, I still think that Sean will play on Sunday.

I also think that it will be Logue, Sheridan and Kersten who will miss out.

I'm looking forward to the game and expect it to be an exciting one.

I can handle Cox at CHF. He looked like a forward the way he played last week.Good hand both in the air and on the ground.
But a query, Cox CHF, McCarthy FF, supposedly Fyfe is going to play forward, where does he play. And where does that leave Kersten. The other spots look already taken. Ballas FP as is Crozier.
HFF Walters and Suban. Other than a bench player I don't see a spot for Kersty.
Just my thoughts.
