McCarthy is due back next week. Will he come straight back in,and if so who does he replace.I am still not overly impressed with Kersten. Taberner had kicked 10 in two weeks for Peel.Does he get another shot.

We have a six day turn around for this game and after the poor performance of so many I think we can look forward to a few changes. I think Cam will come back in at the expense of Taberner being selected. Ross's comments about Taberner's excellent performance at Peel suggests that he isn't convinced that Tabs will perform to that standard at the Dockers. The jury is still out for me with Taberner. He has the size we want, but just like Kersten ad Cam, he has failed to shine when he has had the opportunity.

We are so desperate for a tall forward, I think Ross should consider trying every tall player we have on our list in the forward line and see how they go.

Also, I would hate to see the same collisions and marking spoils amongst teammates that we saw against WCE in this game. Our players need to communicate better with each other.

Unfortunately our next BIG forward, Michael Apeness is out for the season injured. He could be the answer next season as he is a brute at the ball. The type of player we need up there.
The other alternative, as I have said many times before, is play Fyfe there.Leave him one on one and he wont get beaten very often.Change him with Mundy, both good marks and hard at it players. They will contest every ball that goes forward.
I think Ballas is a bit of a worry right now as well.He must be close to getting a call up from Peel.

Anchor I'm not sure what is going on with Ballas atm. He has only recently returned after several weeks out of the game with his hamstring, so perhaps we need to cut him some slack. He looked ill in the North Melbourne game, but I think he looked alright yesterday. One thing Ballas did do in the WCE game was lay quite a few tackles. I know he missed an opportunity to get an easy goal when he fumbled the ball and then slipped when he tried to retrieve it, but he kept up his attack on the ball.

He must be concerned himself about his current form and whether he will be a Docker next year. There's still a few more rounds this season yet for him to turn his form around.

Ross has already indicated that Ballas will play this week and I have now changed my mind and think that Taberner will get a run and not Cam Mac.

I think Kersten may get dropped this week.

Why on earth would Ross drop Ryan, who has been one of our strongest intercept markers?

Never saw that one coming.

Also surprised by Brennan missing the game as well. I thought he was coming along well.

Maybe a chance to see how Deluca goes PH. and also maybe to give them a break. Maybe sore bodies!! only guessing though.
McCarty was always going to come straight back in.
I would have preferred to see Kersten go back to Peel.He needs a game back there to get some confidence. Not sure he fits the first 22 yet.

It looks like the reason Cox and Ryan were dropped was they were drinking after the derby.
Probably trying to drown their sorrows.

What gets me is why these blokes who need to have a drink, drink in public instead of having a couple of quiet ones at home. Brain dead if you ask me.

If Ryan and Cox didn't get the message the first time they got it this time. Losing your spot has to hurt and now no guarantees they will be coming back into the side anytime soon.

I think Ryan is a bit safer than Cox , But you are right if the guy who takes your spot performs it's a hard road back

Have they done this before Goby or are you referring to Blakely's incident where he too was stood down for a week?

You would think that by now that they would both know that the leadership group do not mess around with these sorts of shenanigans. They act swiftly and decisively. Do the wrong thing and you will be dropped from the squad.

Tough love.
