So Jonathon Griffin in for Sean and possibly Sam Collins to play.

I am surprised Ross is intending to play Harley again this week given Etihad's hideous surface and the fact that so many players have copped leg injuries from the venue.

It would have to be the worst playing surface in Australia.

I really don't think we can beat Essendon even though we did the last time we played them. We beat Richmond as well prior to last week, so past games mean nothing.

It would be good if we can at least be competitive though the way we were in the first quarter against Richmond. Essendon will be going all out to win and stay in the eight and we will probably take a belting.

Hey, whatever it takes to keep the Eagles out of the finals. It's the least we can do.

I think Griff is the only other ruckman we have, other than the kid Strnadica. He is too immature to play at AFL level just yet.Needs a load of muscle and weight to get to the level required.Maybe another two years. He has acquitted himself well at Peel. But he has mostly played ressies for Peel.A player for the future.
It surprises me that Lyon would leave it until the last game of the year to bring Collins back.He has played one game this year and was promptly dropped back to Peel.I would be gob smacked if he was played. After some rhetoric from Lyon last week about his druthers on Dawson and Collins!!!!
Lyon also spoke of wanting to play Taylin Duman before seasons end.I am not sure that Collins will be with us next season, so I would sooner see Duman given a spot.
Like you PH, I can't see us beating Essendon on form.I think the kids have hit the wall and will take some getting up for this one.
Not a knock on Fyfe, as I see him as being our main man, but maybe, this is the time to stand taller than he has so far.Maybe it is time for him to tear a team apart, send a message to the kids and carry them along with him to see just what the future holds for them at Fremantle.

I don't know what is going on with Sam but leaving him out all year is really saying something. I don't think he is a great player but he seems to be serviceable and after getting 14 games last year to 1 this year is a stark contrast.  Not sure what is going on there.

This is going to be a really tough game for the crew.

I would bring in both Ibbo and Dawson.   Even though both have said they don't want a farewell game, I would do it.

I hope Taberner goes to the bench and Mundy plays forward most of the game. Don't understand why Nyhuis cannot get at least 3 games in a row under his belt so he can learn to play with his team mates.

Will see how we fare down back with Daniher and Hooker playing well!  But so long as our team tries hard and back each other up.  Show intent and hold your heads up high, Freo!

Go Dockers!!! Last chance cafe for 2017!!!

I am disappointed that De Luca has been dropped as I think he has really given his all in the games he has played. Also surprised that Logue has been dropped. I thought the idea was to get as many games into our youngsters as possible. Still it may be that Griffin has pulled up sore or fatigued.

It will be interesting to see how Collins, Sheridan, Suttcliffe and Suban go against Essendon as it's probably their make or break game with respect to staying at Freo next year. Congratulations to Sutty on playing his 100th game for Freo. Hope you have a good one.

Going on our past couple of weeks, any loss to Essendon that's less than 50 points is a bonus. Having just been on their website, its obvious that their fans are gunning for a massive margin to stop the Eagles taking their spot.

This squad looks like one of the more mature teams Freo have fielded this year.
I think Logue and Nyhuis have gone back to peel to get ready for their finals and get some confidence back after a couple of weeks of getting smashed maybe the same regarding Deluca, unlucky for Deluca as he has seemed to play when we have been soundly beaten so it's a bit hard to make a judgment on how he would play in a competitive team, which is sad as he might not get another opertunity.
Purple Heart your correct regarding Collins Sheridan Suban and Sutcliffe( good luck on making it to 100),but all will be playing for their future on Sunday.

I feel for Cam McCarthy having the whole supporter base willing him home, sitting out a year then finding himself out of the team for the last game.  He has a decent start to the season but at the back end it got the better of him.  Also I think his confidence was fast on the decline.  He needs to get his head right and get himself back into a good preseason.

I think everyone is holding their breath and hoping for a game without a blow out

Well I'm watching this and you may get your wish Fay!

God help us, Essendon got the rub of the green early on and within 15 minutes Daniher and friends started to play for free kicks, and it's only the 1st qtr.  Don't know whether I will see out watching this entire game. We aren't playing well but having the umpires against us this openly doesn't help at all!

Yes Fay!  At least I'm seeing more intent by our players in the 2nd and the umpires have not influenced the game this qtr either.
Have muted the commentators though (your suggestion) haha!!
