Are we a club in turmoil. Are we in trouble?
The pressure seems to be relentless coming from the media in the East.Tim Gossage said that these rumours and accusations are coming from the Eat .Is someone leaking info to them and giving them a cheap shot.Which in the past I would believe to be true.Or are the WA journos not doing their job correctly?
We all know that Whately and Lyon have history, so what Whatley says you would have to take with a pinch o salt and sour grapes. Kerro Wilson has never had a good word to say about Fremantle or Lyon from my knowledge. She is a sour old woman who only ever has praise for the Richmond FC.
The latest  seems to be about a male who has a problem with an administrator at Fremantle.Seems like it was investigated and thrown out.The name of the admin has not been released and the complainent has said he doesn't want to go any further. If that is the case, why complain.
What do we all make of it.

There's a media conference at 12.20 from Fremantle

Bell said Ross's job is fine

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-05-11/lyons-job-isnt-in-jeopardy-bell

The club doesn't appear to be in turmoil just guilty of handling the situation poorly.  Which I guess is also what their sponsors are saying.

The media spun a story and freo spun one back.  Possibly not the best way to handle it.

Let's hope they really nail this media conference today.

The club is obligated to report every incident to the AFL

If they did that then how would we know where the leak is. In our own camp or the AFL camp!

Good conference, I only wish they had done it sooner.

Lyon's apology

“I understand there is a lot of hurt occurring to our club, members, partners and the wider AFL,” the coach said.

“In particular my family, the complainant, and other people with the allegations being aired.

“This really saddens me and I’m really sorry to see this."

My money would be on Kim  Hagdorn,  has an axe to grind with Freo big time.

It has been a witch hunt from the start and who knows where it will finish, or how.
Wouldn't like to swap places with Ross Lyon, that's an awful lot of hate out there.

While I am at it ,we did not need Brad Hill in the news carrying on like an idiot right now.
The timing couldn't be worse.

Freo have been stumbling from one mini crisis episode to the next each month.

The media don’t require anyone to leak information. It is just as easy, even preferable, for them to make it up.

That bloody story printed earlier today which said that Fremantle were going to announce that Ross would be sacked and that the club have a replacement coach on standby was completely made up, Yet again the media vultures got it WRONG. So where is the outrage from our Fans in all this?

In what would have to be the biggest act of hippocracy the media have the audacity to act sanctimonious with their allegations of foul play and cover ups, while at the same time printing whatever they like. Again, where is the outrage from our Fans in all this?

The fact of the matter is that a Workcover Confidentiality Agreement is meant to be CONFIDENTIAL and provide anonymity for BOTH parties involved, and yet here we are with one party involved in that Agreement being publicly identified to satisfy the bloodlust of the media and tragically some of our club’s fans.

This incident has NOT been handled badly by our club, it has been handled badly by the MEDIA, and for anyone who joined in the Ross Lyon witch hunt, all I can say to you is “the test of Loyalty does not occur when things are going well, but when things are not going well”.

I could handle the Sunday Times Alleged Journalist being the instigator.
I can also play out the bloke in the bar and having a confrontation with Lyon.Ross having a quit one maybe with a few mates.A supposed fan gets in his face and it is on.Remember it happened to Karl Langdon when out with a few friends at a pub.It happened to MAl Brown when some old lady kept getting in his face.It is easy to picture just how it went.

Much a do about fawk all. Complete witch hunt. The harassment case was handled with all respective parties excepting the outcome. Bugger all in it regarding the bar brouhaha, total beat up by the media. More concerning was brad hill, dude what were you thinking? False name? Seriously, he’s better than that surely.

Up until now, I think I have said one negative comment about Ross this whole time which was when he first came to the club, I said he wasn't very comfortable with the media.

I don't compromise what I believe for a club or any organisation or any person.  I also don't believe I have a lack of loyalty if I point out an issue or if I stand up and say what I believe in but everyone is different, I acknowledge that.

I hope all this new found loyalty to Ross extends into his game plan, his ability as a coach and his contract to 2020 and maybe beyond.  Cos really all I hear is people bagging him out constantly. But that seems to be ok...Obviously, the loyalty rules are more complicated than I ever imagined.

The media frenzy started by Gossage (I believe) about Ross being sacked and Sumich being put up was ridiculous but very timely I thought. It certainly didn't have a negative effect on the club or Ross. It made the board look united, and their "back your man" stance stronger. It had the additional effect of making the media look pathetic and hungry for blood to run with any story without much fact.  Brillant run of media for club really if you think about it.
