What a load of crap that was.

If they want to run that rubbish go out and create a new league and get sponsorship to support it. And don't use AFL players.  It looks nothing like footy and it doesn't belong in AFL.

I watched the game, it came to an end and flipped over to a women's match. The contrast was staggering.  Even if the women don't have great skills (yet) you can see they are playing Australian rules.

AFLX isn't Australian rules football, why are the AFL promoting it.

I didn't watch it, so I can't comment, but I'm not interested anyway.  I certainly wasn't sold by those stupid names that were given to the contrived teams.

I think you are all missing the point it was only ever going to be a kick and giggle game aimed at 8-15 year olds and I'm going out on a limb here but I'm guessing most if not all posters here are well out of that age bracket 😀😀
I watched some of it and Fyfe was quit good for a bloke playing with one arm and Brad Hill was very lively but hard to really say as all players were going at about 70% but it was always going to be that way in games where no one wants to get injured.
It didn't resemble AFL but gave the boys a chance to play with players they will never play with.

I don't think I would have watched it even if I had the chance.Wasted money from my POV.
I do see it as a way for the AFL to get more kids , or their parents buying AFL gear. The jumpers look spiffing, the kids would want them.I bet you see plenty of the Marvel jumpers floating around at the AFL games this season.
Money better spent on the second tier competitions.
