Why would they keep the public out!!!!
I know we play them for real next week, but I would see it as a goodwill gesture from both clubs as giving PFC some revenue from bar takings.

2x25=Seinor&Michael.

29 = 353.

Improver one,Taylin Duman.

Improver two, Brett Bewley.
Smokey, Tobe Watson.

I forgot that the club was showing it on FTV.
A win over the other mob is always good.Not sure just what sort of sides both fielded but from all accounts Freo were on top from the beginning.
McCarthy kicked three I think I heard them say.
Seemed to be a load of our players training in the oval alongside the playing ground.
And there were some supporters made their way into the ground.

2x25=Seinor&Michael.

29 = 353.

Improver one,Taylin Duman.

Improver two, Brett Bewley.
Smokey, Tobe Watson.

From what I could glean from others, there were some very good passages of play, and some not so good.

It's good to hear McCarthy kicked three goals. That would be a confidence boost for him. Banfield continues to impress and stake a claim for Round 1 as did Brayshaw by all accounts.

LOL I see the Eagles are quick to emphasise the fact that we fielded an almost full squad compared to their team of kids.

We just need to repeat today's result when we meet them next week.

Haha just checked their report where they said that, citing that they played 9 1st or 2nd year players. We played 5 I think, Darcy, Ryan, Banfield, Cerra and Brayshaw, so what's the biggie? Also no Fyfe who's worth 3 or 4 of theirs. Also Hilly is, to quote the boss, pretty handy😉

Any win over the WEAGLES is great, scratch match or not. Yes Mark Duffield from the Worst Australian went to great lengths to mention the Weagles squad missing players but failed to mention Freo's missing players, he is such a groveler.

This result means nothing .In these sort of games would not care if we went back to junior days and no score kept . Let's keep it in perspective , The only result i give a toss about is April 29 , Even this week do not care !! All this crap about the eagles supporters saying you played a full strength side we played kids . Care factor zero , no relevance to the season , Let them start to calculate how  many goals they would be better off with this player in and that player out , And of course  leaving our side the same . And they win by ten goals . It doesn't work like that . Sorry i just have no faith in pre season form.Of course this week i would like to win but if we don't i don't care .

I didn't see the game so I can't comment. But watching the previous game, I thought there were holes in our structure forward and back. Guys were just not adapting to getting into defensive or attack positions or not reacting quick enough to the evolving play. I guess some of that is just young players gaining experience but Freo have players who should know better. I hope they get that right before round one.

So in that aspect, I think the preseason games are valuable. Having said that, I agree with Gtar the result means nothing.

The games have a novelty slant because the new recruits play. The games give you "some" insight to tweaks of the game plan and fitness levels.  But really that is about all.

I'm really pleased for Banfield.  He has obviously put in heaps of effort to get himself drafted and now trying to raise himself off the rookie list. The guy obviously has a really positive outlook, now it's up to him to get hone his skill levels and make an impact. That's the kind of guys we want.
