I am so happy with the way our club has handled the Gold Coast Hub.
It seems the club , players , coaches, medical staff and others, have embraced the entire situation.
There has not been one bad word been said about it from the boys or the club.I believe they made good of an ordinary situation.
I am sure that the entire entourage have become a closer unit with the experience.
I think from a players perspective, it was one where they could bond and become team mates in a different way.
It would have been nice to win another one, maybe two games. But winning two was a real bonus, as most had us not winning any.
I am sure that the entire thing will send us packing at least once more before seasons end, but I am sure they will embrace it all again.
There have been grumbling coming from some clubs and individuals.I am sure you know who I am referring to.But every club and player had to bite the bullet and help keep the game running.
To those who have embraced the hubs, well done.To those that have moaned ,the rest of the football world is sorry we inconvenienced you.
To the FFC, well done.🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌

Agree anchor.  We responded to the call to move to the Gold Coast and we made the most of our time there.  There wasn’t a single whinge from any of our players or coaches and we displayed a very mature attitude to the whole situation.  Every cloud has a silver lining stuff.

Very proud of our club.

I agree it all seemed to work well for our whole club.
You never know this could be the one thing that makes Gold Coast and Brisbane destination clubs for some players who are sick of being frozen in Victoria ha ha.

With the happenings today, could it be that QLD will become favourites to host the GF?

Certainly Anastasia is hoping that will be the pay off for Qld hosting more AFL teams than originally anticipated.

We of course, want the GF to be here and who knows, we may even get it by default.  I think the mistake that Qld are now making is that their border remains open to people in NSW even though it is closed to Victorians.  The last couple of days have seen a steady increase in cases in NSW which have apparently been imported from Victoria.  So, it doesn’t take too much imagination to think that Qld may see some cases imported from NSW, which would be disastrous for the hub.  This could lead to players having to relocate from Qld as well.

I saw a headline today which said “The AFL is trying to outrun a pandemic” and I think that pretty much sums up what is happening at the moment.

This season was always going to be a strange one
Its the clubs with ageing lists that have the most to loose younger teams like ours just need to try and blood as many youngsters as possible and expose them to the standard they need To get to too play AFL.
