We Bleed Purple Show full post »

I have been saying for a while now that our team isn't going as well as it may seem. It's not that I get any pleasure out of saying where going bad, it's just the reality of it all. Had we lost those close ones early on, we would be last. I can't sit back and defend rubbish performances. I walk around this city clothed in purple most days, regardless of the results, I'm proud to be noticed as an odd person out, when where great....I talk it up, but years like this year we stink, and that's the reality of it. Four mature signings plus a fit and healthy captain, good young players coming through and the giant Sandi back in the middle, it all sounded prosperous at the start of the year. Nobody spoke about being in this position with 2 rounds to go. Injuries are no excuse, we have been poor all year. If anything, in regards to Darcy, I believe Sandilands injury has been a blessing. What will next year bring, hopefully M.Mgovern and a fit and healthy H.Bennell for a start. To be optimistic is great, to be realistic....

Vivian I would like to clarify one thing about the the match up of Hamling on Buddy in the GF , Buddy was on one leg after the first ten minutes of the  match , So hardly a fair evaluation of the result every time they would come up against each other .

@gtar58  Re the Hamling vs Buddy match-up. The Swans coaches were expecting it!
The Swans website put up their 5 talking points of the game against us  -  the first and most astonishing aspect for them was that Hamling did not match up to Buddy allowing him to star in the 1st qtr.  That was the biggest bonus for them, in their own words!  That's why I mentioned it.

But I understand your evaluation gtar.  I would have liked to see a proper match up all the same, for all to see how it would have worked out.

Thank you gtar.  The point you made was relevant.  Good to have the conversation, much better than no responses at all I think.  [smile]
