I thought Reece Conca played his best game for Freo so far.

A great unexpected win for me too!  Well done to the entire team, it just goes to show what a bit of confidence in selecting an unchanged line-up can do for a team. Even with Alex Pearce going out with injury did not stop our determination.

Talk about Sonny's lucky kick can echo forever more - two weeks in a row no less. What is often forgotten is that a team has to fight to be in a position to be able to take that 'lucky' kick allowing them to win by 1 or 4 points.  If we had waivered for a second - anyone in the chain - there would be no talk of a 'lucky' kick, now would there!?!

As for the white noise, and even Collingwood, talking about a wrong decision on goal at the beginning of the 3rd quarter - What Utter Rubbish.  If the goal had been disallowed there was at least another 50 minutes of play before them!!  Does anyone really imagine that Fremantle would have collapsed at that time. Their tails were up and their confidence in each other and sheer determination could not be curtailed.  The more obvious answer that "Collingwood were not as good" on Saturday is too simple and can not be stomached by the Pie army and the only too compliant media.

Thank you to all 22 players who played their role and the entire football department who helped and supported them.A big thank you too to Ross Lyon for his coaching on the day, making a few tactical moves and giving two great pep talks - at half time and three quarter time.

Now, what's next??

Go Freeeoooo!!

So channel 7 here in Perth suggested in one of the ad breaks during the weaglets match that the AFL were considering stripping Freo of the 4 points due to the touched goal of Walters.

Haaa Haaa Channel 7 the Wet Toast sponsors trying their hardest once again to discredit Freo's unexpected great win  [tounge2]

They are the Fake News Channel. [sneaky]

I commend Buckley for acknowledging that Freo played better on the day. [thumb]

Vivian, I understand Cox is young but he has been in the system for a few years now and needs to show more effort with his chase and tackles, look at Switkowski half his size but goes in like a steam train, Cox needs to stop playing like a mummy's boy and get in there and not worry about his hair getting messed up, Lyon is big on effort and he should be aware of that if he wants to make it. Pressure from the forwards is vital.

Even more hilarious Vandy is the fact that the Weagles also had a controversial call themselves with a goal paid to a touched ball. I think it was a goal kicked by Oscar Allen. The only difference is that they won by a lot more than our win.

So where to now for their major media sponsors?

Was talking to my brother who was at the game and he said that some Collingwood supporters who were seated near him were saying that Fyfe was the best footballer they had ever seen.

They were being sarcastic and yelling out to their players to kick the ball to Fyfe because Fyfe just kept intercepting their ball.

He reckons he had a great time.

Vandy and PH - I have to agree with your comments on Cox. I guess just didn't want to bring a negative to the celebration of a magnificent win - how many years has it been since Freo beat Collingwood on the MCG?   My bad!!

If you look back to when I came back online again, I was one of Cox's fiercest critics, because he doesn't play like a professional footballer IMO, although he has enormous talent that he takes for granted, for mine. I doubt he is a good fit with Hogan and neither is Taberner.  Probably controversial for some but I think if McCarthy and Hogan are given a chance to work together, with Hogan at CHF and McCarty at his left flank and Walters at his right flank.  Those three know about creating space and getting the ground ball, still staying out of each others' way!?!.  Take your pick from the other two for FF but they need to learn to stay out of Hogan's way when he's going for the ball.  But of course delivery is everything and that seems to be our weakest link in our structure at the moment. That and kicking straight - to all the forward leads as well as kicking for goal. But Hogan has 'future star' written all over him. He Deserves Respect.

Interestingly, On The Couch tonight discussed whether players trained under the right conditions for kicking accuracy. It's no good just kicking for goal all the time unless it is simulating game pressure. Maybe a few mids and backs need to train with the forwards more, to improve their pinpoint accuracy with kicking. We have great kickers of the ball, but under pressure players can lose composure. And kicking to a pre-arranged space is so important, that players will run to. Not moving and expecting the ball to come to you spells disaster.  Maybe our team already does that at training? But nowadays the players are given equal number of days off as training days. Lyon said it was only Hogan that came to practise his kicking for goal on his days off, no one else............?

Just some things that keep me thinking.

I love talking footy when I can, but guess I could be boring most of you by now. Where is Goby by the way?

Secondly...........  It is stupidly funny how the white noise carry on, especially with the biased Perth media.  But apparently there were at least 6 kicking for goal reviews that were not carried out properly last weekend. It seems that the reviewers are not accustomed to looking at the start of the kick, just concentrate on the goal line.

So a real headache for AFL headquarters with incomplete goal reviews and the inconsistent MRO decisions hey?

Why, thank you Docker Nan. Was very surprised but was a little chuffed at your comment.  When talking footy I forget everything else, but it takes me a long, long time to finish my comments, because my hands don't work properly at the best of times. But you can see I can manage when I want to.

But Docker Nan, please remember, it's not how you write, just expressing yourself is all that matters. It doesn't need many words to say 'well done team.' I just get carried away too much.

Now I'm going to look forward to a small comment by Docker Nan on another topic?  Just take your time.....................
