I may be wrong, but I think that the AFL are talking about cutting squad sizes for next season due to the virus.
If this is true, then we need to, as a club, start looking at what may be dead wood, or list jammers.
Who do we have in our squad that supporters think we need to look at as list jammers.
Do players like, Banfield, Crowden, Dixon, North, and a few more come under the microscope?
With Mundy almost certain to retire, that might save one neck,But do we save that one neck, or do we look at maybe someone to draft?
We did pretty well in the draft this year, are there any in that lot that might be under the hammer.
Are there players that we can put forward as trade bait.Do we have that type of payer on our list?IS Blakely one of those. He was not wanted by anyone this season when the club bandied him about.Has his value risen!!!
Does McCarthy also sit in that situation?
Darcy and Meek, can we afford to keep both of them in the squad? If not, who do we move on?
Players like Dixon, Valente, Watson, O'Rielly, Giro, Switkowski, are these payers we can we can expect something from? Can we afford to keep them.
I just raise this as a talking point.I am not saying that the players I mention should go, but they are players under the pump with the limited squad next season.
Fire away people.

I’m not sure to what extent cuts will be required anchor but I hope it’s not too drastic.  No doubt there are some players who would be feeling insecure about their status at the club, which is not a good situation.  It is their career and livelihood after all.  I think we only have one or two who would be looking to retire at the end of the season.  But even then, Mundy may be thinking he could go around one more time, and after last weekend’s performance, I’m sure he could.   We obviously have a few who are out of contract at the end of the year, but I‘m not sure who they are.   There’s also a few players we are still yet to see in purple.  I’m baffled though why Connor Blakey continues to be overlooked.  Competition must be fierce.

One player I have concerns about is McCarthy.  We’re not hearing anything about what’s happening with him since his recent Epilepsy diagnosis.  It may be that he is just taking a bit of time to adjust to his medication and still needs to take it easy.  I hope that is the only reason he is not playing as I want to see him back on the field.

PH, I think that there could be up to eight go.But this number is competition wide. Not just the Dockers.
I think Blakely is suffering from his acts last season. Also his bad end to the season.
I am with you on the McCarthy issue. But he did play in the scratchie on the weekend.

I just watched Belly Say on the Injury front that Logue and Hogan will miss this week so if McCarthy is any chance it could be this weekend.
Getting back on topic I had heard this idea of smaller squads at the start of the pandemic when the AFL realised they were only living week to week money wise,I’m not sure how it would work if they tried removing 8 players with the way players are dropping at the moment some teams might struggle fielding a team that is up to AFL standards.
Then again maybe smaller squads would mean the standard was higher.
It must be hard for someone like North to stay positive and motivated,it’s a shame as it would be great to be able to see these kind of players get a chance to show what they are capable of.

If it happens, then maybe one good thing to come out of it would be that the second tier competitions will become stronger.
Sadly we have a few who through injury may come under scrutiny. Some players never seem to have any luck in that regard.
You look at Valente, North, Switkowski, Crowden, Dixon, Giro, all injury prone.Or so it seems. All with talent, but unable to show it.

Very pleased to hear that Cam played on the weekend anchor.  I wonder whether he could come in this week seeing that Hogan is now out for at least a couple of weeks.  If he went well in the scratchie then that Cam seems to me to be the most logical replacement.

I really want to see Acres back in the side as well.  He was terrific in the Marsh series and we will need some bigger bodies against the Saints, especially as Griffin is out this week.

Hard to find another tall or big backman right now.Cox maybe if fit.
Maybe Watson could get a chance. But he is, like Duman, very lightly framed.

McCarthy more than likely will get a berth this week I would say, unless they go with just two talls,Lobb and Taberner.
